Jessica Valerino joined the Lieber Institute in the summer of 2019 and is a Research Assistant in the Martinowich lab. She is currently investigating the neural mechanisms of attention involved in a rodent continuous performance task. Jess attended Allegheny College where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in neuroscience and a minor in English. As an undergraduate, her research on the interplay between prenatal immune activation and juvenile stress on reversal learning in adulthood earned her departmental honors and the Pelletier Library Undergraduate Research Award.
