Mamta-Hajra

Mamta Hajra joined the Lieber Institute as a Research Associate in 2019. She is currently working with the neuropathology and stem cell group in the Brady Maher Lab, where she primarily deals with Human Dura Fibroblast cell culture. Mamta graduated with a master's of science in biomedical engineering from the University of Bridgeport in 2019. She also earned her bachelor's of science in biotechnology from Purbanchal University in Nepal. Mamta wrote her master’s thesis on the suppression of tumor cells using Magnetospirillum Magneticum bacteria targeting Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. Additionally, her undergraduate research project focused on the use of a bacteriocin-like protein as an alternative to antibiotics. Mamta is now interested in the broad field of neuroscience research.
