Kira-Mandell

About

Kira Perzel Mandell (she/her) is a Human Genetics Ph.D. candidate in the lab of Dr. Shizhong Han. Her research interests include examining genomic DNA methylation in human brains to untangle the molecular mechanisms of psychiatric disease and its genetic risk, as well as gaining an understanding of the role of neurodevelopment in disease. Kira earned her B.S. in Biology at the College of William & Mary before matriculating into the Human Genetics Program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2018.
