Nicole Barat is the Facilities Manager at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. She previously served as a Sr. Research Specialist / Lab Manager with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Nicky has almost 30 years of experience in basic research studying diverse subjects from liver and kidney disease to infectious tick-bourne diseases and HPV Oncology. She holds a BS in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in addition to a wide variety of graduate and CME course in Human Molecular Genetics, Immunology and Molecular Biology. In addition, Nicky has contributed to almost 50 journal articles, book chapters, abstracts and presentations. Nicky is a US Army decorated combat veteran having served in the Middle East during the 1st Gulf War in a Military Intelligence unit. Originally from New York City she now makes her home in Owings Mills, MD.
