CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (March 31, 2025) – Lieber Institute for Brain Development Investigator Dr. Giulio Pergola, PhD, has won the 2025 Research Excellence Award from the Schizophrenia International Research Society, known as SIRS.
The Society presented Dr. Pergola with the award at its 2025 Annual Congress in Chicago in March.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award, a recognition that affirms the impact of my team’s work in transforming schizophrenia research,” Dr. Pergola said. “This moment highlights the power of interdisciplinary collaboration—where basic and clinical sciences converge in the shared mission to unravel the complexities of human nature.”
SIRS is a worldwide organization that aims to bring together researchers and clinicians in schizophrenia and related disorders to accelerate research.
